What are Positive Affirmations and How exactly do they work? – Let’s take a closer look at what this is about.
What are Positive Affirmations?
To get out of your comfort zone and activate enthusiasm, look for reasons that you feel you are going to achieve, reasons that justify, that are worth your effort.
Now that you have the real and concrete reasons to get out of your comfort zone and get to work on your project, let’s go deep into your brain.
There, in your comfort zone, you will find a mental dwarf.
This man who lives in your brain, has been in charge of sabotaging your life since you have the use of reason. Talk in secret, 24 hours a day with your subconscious, and convince him to do nothing; encourages him not to learn anything new. He is a very weak dwarf and has great persuasive power over your unconscious.
I remind you that the subconscious is the one who has the last word when it comes to getting the energy and enthusiasm to do any activity.
Willpower alone could never win over the subconscious.
What can be done to be disciplined?
What we can do is watch when the mental dwarf tries to convince the subconscious not to do anything useful. You have to intervene with positive affirmations.
Positive Affirmations are short sentences, made with a positive meaning, in the present tense, said with encouragement and conviction.
How do Positive Affirmations Work?
Suppose you decided to exercise, and right then you find yourself sitting comfortably watching your Facebook.
The mental dwarf will not want to leave leisure at all.
When you feel like you need to draw attention to your subconscious, you tell yourself positive affirmations.
“I am doing exercise”.
Note that the phrase is positive, it is useless to say “I am not on my Facebook”. “No” is a word that the subconscious does not understand.
Let me give you an example: I want you NOT to imagine a pot-bellied clown running around your living room.

You already realized that it is impossible for the brain not to form the image of the clown. That happens because you cannot imagine a “no”.
Note that the statement “I am exercising” is said in the present tense. Exclaiming a statement in the future does not work.
It is clear that you are not exercising, but if you repeat it several times, with enthusiasm and conviction, you create an imbalance in the subconscious, between what you say and what is happening at that moment.
If you affirm it with the conviction that “you are exercising”, the subconscious will give you the energy to start what you set out to do. You need to use only and only positive statements and make sure that they are in the present tense. This is how positive affirmations work – so better make worthy use of them.
